2010
I’ve been so busy recently that this site has been neglected. In a way the website’s success was it’s own downfall as I got so busy with client work that I had no time to update it. Well updates are on their way! I’ve just finished the coding of a new xml/flash gallery to show new work (where I’m allowed), I just need to do all the graphics and it will be up.. probably replacing my “death to IE6 artwork”. I’m also thinking about some tutorials for those flash designers out there that want to try their skills at After Effects. Nothing to compare to the excellent videocopilot.net, more like how to transfer what you already know to AE.
So yeah, all that coming soon.

the Meaning Fall game
Congratulations to the boys at
mbxgames for winning 3rd spot in the
Dictionary.com “Word Play” contest run by mochiland. There was a lot of stiff competition and the quality was very high so it’s a real achievement. It’s also worth noting that this was the highest rated entry from the entire UK. This isn’t an entirely selfless post as I did the character design and animation for the game. It’s called “Meaning Fall” and is a word guessing game which uses dictionary definitions for clues. Similar to a hangman type game and with similar fatal consequences.

Empire on Patrol
This is a Star Wars inspired desktop wallpaper I made for my dual view set up. It turned out ok so I thought I would share it with the world. The ships are not mine (although I have permission to use them) but everything else is. more…

H1 image replacement
A lot of the time, at the top of your website you’ll want to use something a bit more impressive than a simple H1 tag. The obvious solution would be to replace it with an image, but then you don’t have a H1 anymore and it makes good SEO sense to keep them on your pages. I’m going to show you a way of replacing your H1 text with an image and the search engines will continue to read it.
